What is family violence

Family or domestic violence is any behaviour that causes physical, sexual or emotional damage, or causes you to live in fear. It may include;

  • physical abuse
  • emotional abuse
  • sexual abuse
  • controlling access to family and friends
  • controlling access to finances
  • stalking

Family violence counselling

SECASA provides counselling and advocacy to adults, children and young people who have experienced family violence and who are living in or have left abusive relationships.

Family violence after hours service

This service is available to past and recent victims of family violence including;

  • women
  • women with children
  • men
  • men and women in same sex relationships

Victims will be provided with support and advocacy in relation to medical, legal, accommodation and support options. They can be provided with clothing, baby supplies, children’s clothing and a toiletry pack.
