Some of our strongest contributors were honoured at the 2019 Monash Health Awards ceremony this afternoon.

Monash Health Board Chair Dipak Sanghvi presented the awards, with Chief Executive Andrew Stripp MC-ing the event and announcing the winners. The latter was ably assisted by Anjali Dhulia and Carlos Scheinkestel, and described the event as a time to pause and reflect on the many achievements of people throughout Monash Health.

“I always feel humbled and thankful to be in a room with so many dedicated and talented professionals,” he said.

“Although it’s a busy time across Monash Health, particularly with EMR almost here, I’m pleased that we have taken this time to celebrate the incredible work that takes place across our health service.

“Our strategic intent is to be relentless in our pursuit of excellence, and this intent is clearly demonstrated by those in this room, finalists and winners alike.

“This year we received a large number of extremely impressive nominations and the range – from across the incredible breadth of our service – included mental health, research, compassion, quality and safety, Aboriginal health, LGBTIQ, women’s health and more.

“I would like to congratulate all of our finalists. While the nature of an awards ceremony means that not everyone can walk away with a certificate, all your work is deserving.”

With many examples of innovation and excellent care, in addition to these internal awards, Monash Health was well-placed to submit 11 strong nominations to the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards. The outcome of these submissions will be known when finalists are announced in early October.

A huge congratulations to the Monash Strengthening Hospitals Response to Family Violence project team for their award.

SECASA is very proud to be working within The Strengthening Hospitals Response to Family Violence Initiative here at Monash to ensure we have an organisational wide Response to Family violence. A huge thank you to our SECASA family violence project lead Carla, for her hard work in this area
