Sensitive issues are often not widely discussed amongst Aboriginal community members, let alone with members outside of their own community. Aboriginal people are reluctant to discuss sensitive health and welfare issues with mainstream service providers.
Aboriginal people often do not know that mainstream and welfare agencies exist or what services are provided, let alone where they can find out about them. Individuals often lack the confidence to inquire about what services are available to support them, from people they do not know.
