Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) on 131 450 if you do not speak English you can ring this number and they can provide an interpreter.

Domestic violence outreach workers are located throughout Australia and provide support, advocacy and information.

The Sexual Assault Crisis Line on 1800 806 292 provides telephone counselling, information and advice 24/7.

Domestic Violence Resource Centre on (03) 9486 9866 provides telephone counselling, information and advice to survivors of incest and domestic violence.

Women's Domestic Violence Crisis Service on 1800 015188 provides information, support and access to safe accommodation/refuge for women and their children.

Immigrant Women's Domestic Violence Service on (03) 8413 6800 provides support and information to immigrant women in refuges in their primary language.

The Aboriginal Family Violence Prevention and Legal Service Victoria on 1800 105 303 provides a range of health services, counselling and general support services, free legal advice and representation to members of the Aboriginal community.

  • Women's Information and Referral Exchange on 1300 134 130 provides telephone counselling, advice and referral to women.
  • Women's Legal Service Victoria on 1800 133 302 provides telephone legal advice and referral.
  • Federation of Community Legal Centres on (03) 9652 1500 will refer you to your local Community Legal Centre for free legal advice.
  • Victoria Legal Aid on 1800 677 402 provides free legal advice and representation.
  • Women's Health Victoria on (03) 9662 3755 provides information and advice about women's health issues and can refer to Women's Health Services in your region.
  • Court Network on 1800 681 614 provides support for people attending court. In some courts it provides specialist support for people applying for intervention orders.
  • Men's Referral Service on 1800 065 973 provides information, support and referral to services for men who are violent or abusive in the home and want to change their behaviour.
