Where can I go for advice and what does it cost?
You should go to see your regular doctor if you feel able to talk freely with them. Because STIs are common, the doctor will have plenty of experience in this area. Normal medical charges and rebates will apply. If you feel uncomfortable about seeing your regular doctor about an STI, please contact the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre which is located at:
580 Swanston Street
Carlton Victoria 3053
Tel: +61 3 9341 6200
Free call: 1800 032 017 (Toll free from outside Melbourne metropolitan area only)
TTY: +61 3 9347 8619 (Telephone for the hearing impaired)
Fax: +61 3 9347 2230
HIV/AIDS Clinic: +61 3 9341 6214
All services at the Centre are completely free and confidential. Staff can give you up to date advice on the phone, make an appointment to see you, or give you a referral to doctors in your area who are able to help you.
