Home: Survivors: The Cafe: Tears unbidden
The tears come.
She doesn't want them to, but they come anyway
They spill down her cheeks
They splash down
And when they land they break apart
She sees all of them
Each one as it shatters
The eyes: the windows to her soul, now spill forth her soul
Within each drop, part of her goes with it
She tries not to move
If she moves they'll see
If they do, they'll see so much of her
Too much
So vulnerable
She cries silently
She's good at making no noise
But she can't stop the tears
The tears that burn her flesh
She hates those tears
Those tears that cause her so much trouble
They're nearby
If they glance at her, they'll see
She tries to cover up all those little parts of her
Out of sight. Out of mind.
They mustn't see
If they see, they know
If they know ...
If they know ...
Too many tears
Too many
